Alcatraz Tour Details

You can add a trip to Alcatraz to any of our tour offerings for only $26. Alcatraz Island is a senic 10-minute ferry ride offshore from San Francisco's Embarcadero. The tour of Alcatraz includes the 45 minute audio tour "Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour" which features interviews and stories of prisoners and correctional officers who either worked on or were incarcerated in the United States Penitentiary-Alcatraz. An orientation video, ranger-led tours and docent tours are also available.

The weather on Alcatraz Island is very changeable. It can be cold and foggy, then suddenly warm and clear almost any time of year. It is recommended to wear multiple layers of clothing with a windproof layer for the Summer months and a waterproof layer in the Winter months.

PLEASE Remember:

• Choose the Alcatraz Tour add-on during checkout. Be sure to specify your desired date and time of the tour.
• The ferry departs from Pier 33 in Fisherman's Wharf. You should arrive at least 30 minutes before departure time to ensure boarding.
• The approach to the main cellblock from the ferry landing is a steep incline. The path is 1/4 mile with a 12% grade. Assistance is available.
