Incredible Adventures is a small, environmentally-conscious tour company that offers small group tours by biodiesel van out to Yosemite National Park and Sonoma Wine Country. We are currently seeking a part- or full-time (2-4 8-hour shifts per week) Customer Service Representative to join our reservations and operations team.

We are a liberal-minded group who thrive on being in a casual and laid back work place that offsets our challenging and dynamic jobs.

Our office is open from 7:00am-9:00pm every day of the week. There are 2 CSR shifts per day that cover morning dispatch from 5:45am-1:45pm and nightly trip preparation from 1:00pm-9:00pm. We are looking for a CSR who will commit to working a combination of early and late shifts, including at least 1 weekend shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Pleasant and efficient phone manner. Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks during a shift. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to problem-solve and confidence and ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on time-sensitive issues. Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Positive, can-do attitude. Enthusiasm and energy. A clean driving record, be at least 25 years old, and the ability to obtain a California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger endorsements (Class B with P endorsements).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Customer Service Representatives are responsible for answering phone calls and taking phone reservations for all of our sightseeing and camping trips, for taking email reservations and confirming online reservations, for responding to email inquiries, for charging credit cards, communicating with guides during their trips, preparing trips for the next day, for fueling vans upon return from trips, for keeping track of space availability, for taking phone messages, and for assisting with general office duties (filing, straightening up at closing).

Seasonal Driver/Guide Position - Part and Full Time available (posted June 5, 2008)

Incredible Adventures is seeking people to be a driver/guide on day trips to Yosemite National Park (6:00am – 9:00pm with 3-hour break midday). Guides lead the trip as well as drive our 15-passenger Biodiesel-fueled vans, pick up passengers at San Francisco hotels, provide informational narrative during the trip and in Yosemite, collect payment, communicate with office throughout the day, conduct 1 ½ hour guided tour in Yosemite, then offer suggestions and directions for clients’ 3 hours of free time in Yosemite Valley, drive back to SF and drop off at hotels. During the busier months, there is also the possibility of leading combination Muir Woods and Wine Country trips as well as 3-day, 2-night camping trips and American River Raft day trips.

Guides should have customer-service oriented disposition, a fun and outgoing attitude, and enjoy interacting with people from all over the country and the world. Experience is a plus, but not required.

Wages are per trip. Pay ranges from $100-180 per day. Successful applicant must have a clean driving record, be at least 25 years old, have a Commercial Class B drivers license with passenger endorsements, but willing to train the right candidate. A pre-employment drug test will be required.

Overland Tour Leader Position (posted June 5, 2008)

Incredible Adventures is now hiring for its 2008 overland tour leader position.  As we receive many applications for tour leaders it is imperative applicants send cover letter, resume and short form of your DMV record (last 3 years), available at your local DMV for $5,  as soon as possible to be considered for the 2008 season.  Applications without cover letter and DMV record will not be considered. 

About us

Incredible Adventures is an eco-friendly adventure tour company offering small group tours throughout the western United States.  Our major departure cities are: San Francisco, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.  All vehicles are housed in San Francisco, so tours departing from Las Vegas and Salt Lake will include a dead-head to the start of the tour.  The tours we are hiring for are anywhere from 7-21 days long and include both hotel and camping tours.  (Please specify whether you are interested in hotel or camping tours or both).  Our tours are designed to get customers off the beaten path and explore the Western US with as little environmental impact as possible.

What are we looking for?

Incredible Adventures is looking for reliable and organized individuals with a desire for adventure.  This individual will need to have the ability to arrange outdoor activities, sightseeing excursions, evening activities, teach sustainable travel and camping etiquette, cooking skills, and the ability to engage clients by participating in daily chores.  This individual must also demonstrate high energy and excellent people skills.

A tour leader will also be responsible for completing daily duties such as handling the driving, maintaining a driver log, accounting, arranging daily logistics and activities, obtaining knowledge of daily destinations, and the ability to adjust to group dynamics.

We are looking for leaders to start training immediately

What we require?

Due to insurance restrictions all drives must be 25 years of age and have or obtain a California Class B Commercial Drivers license with Passenger Endorsements. (Will train the right candidate for drivers license), clean driving record, great communication skills, and the ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certificates. A minimum 4-month commitment is required. 

Bonus Qualities

Tour leaders that have a good sense of US geography, foreign languages, American culture and history.
