Monument Valley Navajo Lands Monument Valley straddles the Utah/Arizona border near the Four Corners area. It is the ancestral home of the Najavo Indians and is characterized by sandstone buttes formed from the erosion of the Colorado Plateau. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks) and it has been featured in countless movies and advertisements including the feature film Forest Gump. Activites in the Valley include horseback rides, off-road jeep tours, sightseeing and overnight adventures. |
