Yellowstone National Park Yellowstone National Park is located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming and parts of Montana and Idaho. It was the first official national park in the world, established on March 1, 1872. The first of the national park “crown jewels”, Yellowstone is known for its diverse wildlife and geothermal features. Nearly half of the world's geothermal features are in Yellowstone, the most famous of which is Old Faithful Geyser. Large numbers of Grizzly bears, wolves and free-range herds of bison and elk live in the park. Over 3 million people visited Yellowstone in 2008. |
